A new hair styling salon is now open on Main Street in Irvine. The proprietor, Lavotus Johnson, isn’t a stranger to downtown as she also runs L&W Sewing Basket located next door.
“Cuts on Main” is a full service hair salon offering shampoos, cuts, perms and color. Lavotus will also perform facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures.
Lavotus has 16 years of experience styling hair and began her career as an intern at Dot’s on Broadway. She has also worked at the Hair Barn at Waco, Regis, Walmart and The Cutting Edge in Richmond.
Her niece, Rebecca Pasley Harrison, also an experienced hairstylist, will work with Lavotus on Mondays. The shop will also be open on Tuesdays and Fridays and by appointment on Saturday.
“If somebody needs me to open up on Saturday, I will be glad to,” Lavotus said. “They just have to call me.”
“Cuts on Main” as well as “L&W Sewing Basket” are wheel chair accessible. Entering the shop you will immediately notice the nice, warm, homey atmosphere.
“Wayne (her husband and partner) said it is like walking into our living room,” Lavotus said.
Stop in and let Lavotus get you dolled up for the holidays. Walk-ins are welcome or call 723-9907 for an appointment.
