Coach Mark McKinley’s Estill girls used a 24-2 first quarter advantage to coast to a 45-32 win over Berea on Tuesday.
The Lady Engineers were led in scoring by Flynn with 15, Neal 14, and Alexander 10. Also contributing points were Hall, Gould and Carter with 2 each.
Berea was led by Shearer’s 10.
This was the first and last home contest of 2009 for Estill, now owners of a 2-0 record.
The team returns to action Saturday at 6 p.m. in Salyersville, taking on a Menifee team that is winless in two outings, falling 91-41 at Rowan County, and 44-33 to Nicholas County.
A visit to Hazard is on tap for Monday.
Action against the Lady Bulldogs gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
Hazard tasted defeat for the first time in three outings this week, falling 63-37 to Owsley County.
Next home game for Estill will be January 2 when Model comes to town.
