Several of those recently arrested and charged with various crimes, mainly drug trafficking, were indicted by the Estill County Grand Jury on September 2.
Jack Cockrell, also known as Jack R. Cockrell, Jr., 46, of 810 South Irvine Road, was arrested at Roses Garage in South Irvine on August 5, 2014.
The grand jury indicted Cockrell for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense, after he allegedly sold Percocet to a confidential witness, which is a class D felony.
He was also indicted for trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense, for selling three hydrocodone pills to a confidential informant; trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense, for selling three suboxone pills to a confidential informant; trafficking in a controlled substance, third degree, first offense, for possessing 4 Clonazepam pills, (a class A misdemeanor); and trafficking in a legend drug, for selling 15 Neurontin, a class A misdemeanor.
The arrests were made within 1000 feet of the South Irvine Preschool Center, resulting in two trafficking within 1000 feet of a school charges, both class D felonies.
Thomas Scott Reeves, 35, of 2482 McKee Road, was indicted on five counts. He too was arrested on August 5, at Rose’s Garage, which is near South Irvine Elementary. He had pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in his possession. The grand jury is charging him with trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense; trafficking in marijuana, less than eight ounces, first offense; trafficking within 1000 feet of a school; and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia.
Jeff Estes, 31, of 5050 Crooked Creek Road, was indicted for causing damage to a victim’s vehicle, over $1,000, a class D felony, and for public intoxication by a controlled substance.
The incident took place at Stop and Shop on March 14, 2014, and Estes was indicted for criminal mischief, first degree, public intoxication by a controlled substance, disorderly conduct, second degree, after he created a disturbance. He is also being charged with escape, third degree, fleeing or evading police, and being a persistent felony offender, second degree, after he allegedly pulled away from a police officer and ran into a field.
Cynthia Henry Puckett, a.k.a. Cynthia Henry, 30, of 1807 Kissey Branch Road, was indicted by the grand jury on seven counts. On July 18, 2014, Henry was arrested and charged with careless driving, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense; possession of open alcohol beverage container in her vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, first degree, possession of a controlled substance, third degree, first offense, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, first offense, and operating on a suspended or revoked operating license.
The grand jury indicted Brian Scott Samples, 32, of 86 shady Lane, on five counts. He was arrested on July 1, 2014, and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving under the influence on a suspended license, second offense; possession of marijuana, buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, and being a persistent felony offender, second degree.
Mike Murphy, 39, of 926 Cow Creek, and Jeremy Tipton, 37, of 295 Grindstone Road, Apt. #12, were indicted on charges made against them in May, when they were arrested for stealing a washer and dryer. Both are charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking/disposition of all others over $500, but less than $10,000.
Charles Henry Hale, Jr., 35, of 440 Sweet Lick Road, was indicted for failing to make required disposition of property over $500. He was supposed to do mechanic work on a victim’s truck but sold it instead. He’s also charged with being a persistent felony offender, second degree.
Cody Tyler Berryman, 25, of 1006 Dark Hollow Road, is being indicted on three charges. He was arrested on or about June 13 to June 23 for forging check’s belonging to Dustin Arvin. He is facing three charges of forgery, second degree.
Misty Dawn Wilson, 33, of 115 Church Street, Robert Saller, 51, of 201 Sandhill Road, and Bekki Hoover, 31, of 1700 Cow Creek Road, were indicted on two counts. They were arrested for two counts each of criminal possession of forged instruments, second degree, for having checks forged on or about June 19 to July 9, 2014.
Justin Mosley, 22, of 10 Crabtree Lane, was indicted for burglary, third degree, and theft by unlawful taking, disposition of all others over $500. He was arrested on June 16, 2014, for taking tools and other items from a storage building in South Irvine.
Phillip Larrison was indicted for theft by unlawful taking or disposition. He was arrested on June 17, 2014 for taking a four-wheeler from White Oak Stables belonging to John Flynn.
Matthew Riddell, 34, of 125 Dawes Road, and Phillip Larrison, 22, of 135 Dawes Road, were each indicted for receiving stolen property under $10,000. They were arrested on or about May 24, 2014 and July 1, 2014 for having a set of harrows in their possession that had been reported stolen from the Richard Kirby residence and sold to C and S Recycling.
Andrew Hunt, 31, of 670 Winston Road, was indicted for theft by unlawful taking. He was arrested on June 3, 2014 for stealing an ATV.
Vicky Cornett, a.k.a. Vicky Campbell, 41, of Irvine, was indicted on four counts. She was arrested on December 1, 2013, for criminal mischief, second degree, for burglary, second degree, and for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct second degree.
Jody R. Riddell, 22, of 1560 Pea Ridge Road, was indicted for charges incurred against him between December 5, 2013, and March 19, 2014, in Estill County. The grand jury has indicted him for receiving stolen property, under $10,000.
Anthony Ryan Combs, a.k.a. AJ Combs, of 511 Ballard Drive, Richmond, was indicted on charges made against him on November 18, 2007. On or about that date he was charged with burglary, second degree, unlawful transaction with a minor, second degree, and theft by unlawful taking after he allegedly broke into the residence of Donald Walling.
Mike Murphy, 40, of 926 Cow Creek Road, was indicted on two counts. He was charged on June 14 and 15,2014, with two counts of criminal possession of forged instrument, second degree.
Brenda Riddell, 52, of 252 Hoys Fork Road, was indicted on two counts of 13 counts each. On or about April 10, to May 3, 2014, she was arrested for forgery, second degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree, for having checks in her possession belonging to Robert Riddell.
