Estill County Health Department Adminstrator Tim Gould was very busy Tuesday as an H1N1/seasonal flu clinic was occurring at the offices on River Drive.
Gould said that as of 11 a.m. they had administered vaccine to 124 patients and that the lobby was full of those waiting their turns.
There was a clinic on Saturday at Estill Middle School in which vaccine was administered to 409 people.
“We were expecting to vaccinate 1,000 people so I was a little disappointed in the number,” Gould said.
“We are planning another clinic for Dec. 12 and it will be here (at the health department). We will give both types of vaccine at that one too.”
On Wednesday, the health department went to West Irvine Elementary School where 100 children had asked for the vaccine in advance. They will go to Estill Springs Elementary on Friday and South Irvine on a future date.
Gould said he feels like the health department will be able to accommodate everybody who wishes to be vaccinated.
