An Estill County man died in a traffic accident in Madison County last Wednesday.
Archie Hurley, 59, of Little Doe Creek Road was eastbound, driving a 1984 Ford truck, when a 1995 Chevrolet truck being driven by Keiley M. Harrison, 24, of Richmond crossed the center line and hit Hurley’s vehicle head-on.
Hurley was pronounced dead at the scene by Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison, according to a Kentucky State Police press release.
Patsey Hurley, 45 of Irvine who was a passenger in the Ford truck, was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center by Madison County Emergency Medical Services Ambulance. Her condition wasn’t known at presstime.
The KSP press release also stated that although it is unknown why the Harrison vehicle crossed into Hurley’s path, alcohol does appear to be a contributing factor. Harrison was also transported to UK Medical Center.
The accident is under investigation by KSP Trooper Michael Stotts.
