National Guard Supper

The Woolly Worm Festival will be in Beattyville Oct. 23, 24 and 25.
The Appalachian Dulcimer Club is offering Free lessons on Fridays at 5 p.m. at the Estill County Public Library. The only requirement is to bring your own dulcimer.
Show Case of Artists
The 3rd annual Tri-County Showcase of Artists will be held Oct. 31 from 1-4 p.m. at the Estill County Golf Clubhouse, 1602 Kirkland Avenue. The event is sponsored by Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital, PADD, WestCare and Estill Arts Council.
Trick or Trot
The Estill County Rescue Squad presents the 5th annual Trick-R-Trot and family fun festival Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. at the Estill County High School Track. There will be Trick-R-Treating, concessions, inflatables and a petting zoo. For more information contact Chris Mitchell, 859-556-9444.
Light Up Rivertown
On Saturday, Nov. 22, the Estill County FBLA will host their 10th annual Light up Rivertown. This year’s activities include live entertainment, a Christmas craft fair, horse drawn carriage ride, and many other events. The craft fair will start at 10 a.m. Booths are still open to anyone who wants to display their crafts. Call Ms. Witt, 723-3537 during the school day. The carriage ride is free with a non-perishable food donation to Estill County Food Bank. Toys for Tots
The Ohio Valley Wrestling, professional wrestlers, will be at the Estill County Fairgrounds Saturday, Oct. 24. Tickets are $10/$5 for 12 and under. Bell time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $7 if you bring a toy. This is a fundraiser for Toys for Tots.
The Estill/Powell counties Kentucky ASAP (Agency on Substance Abuse Policy) Board will be providing a series of five parenting classes for free. Leaders will use the evidence-based curriculum, Guiding Good Choices, geared for parents and caregivers of children ages 9-14 years of age. Classes will be held every Tuesday at the Ravenna Church of the Nazarene from 6:30-8 p.m. beginning Oct. 27 and concluding on Nov. 23. Twin City Kruzers
The Twin City Kruzers will have a 50″-60″s sock hop and Halloween party Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Masonic Lodge on Broadway. Prizes will be given for best costumes, hula hoop and dance contest. There will be a silent auction. Price is $3 each or $5 couple; children 12 and under, free. The Body Fitness Exercise classes led by Sister Loretta Spotila, RN will meet in the gym of the Central Office Building, 253 Main Street. These classes use gentle exercise and movement and are designed to build strength and flexibility. American Legion Post 79 will have a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. and Halloween dance at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Cost is $10 per person. Proceeds will benefit Jack McIntosh.

Financial Peace Classes
Financial Peace Classes meet every Wednesday for 12 weeks from now to Dec. 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Estill County Library. To register call 859-624-4116, ext. 306. There is no cost to residents of Estill, Powell, Madison or Clark counties (a service of Foothills CAP).
The Estill County Community Food Bank needs to stock the shelves of the pantry. A collection container will be located in the Extension Office and other places where donations of non-perishable items (canned, boxed foods, etc.) may be dropped off. Please help support this worthy program to help the less fortunate.
Mommie and Me
Mommie and Me Storytime groups will be every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and every Friday at 10:30 a.m. These groups are for children ages 2 through 5. Bring your child to the library for a story, an art activity, and a snack. Call 723-3030 for more information.
