KSP offering reward for Barnes Mt. theft suspect
Kentucky State Police are asking for assistance in finding an Estill County man wanted for a burglary on Barnes Mountain Road.
KSP Trooper Scott Felder said a $500 reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information that would lead to the arrest of Frankie Scott Young.
Young, 43, is wanted in connection with a burglary that took place in late May.
According to the arrest warrant, Young entered a home on Barnes Mountain Road through the basement door.
He allegedly stole 14 guns, a 55” television and other household items from the property.
Felder said he would consider Young to be armed and dangerous “considering the number of guns he took from the home.”
One of the victim’s guns was recovered at Wade’s Pawn Shop in Madison County by KSP.
Young also returned to the home and stripped the wiring from the walls.
Some of the wire was recovered from C&S Recycling.
Other items stolen from the home were found in the woods and other locations on Barnes Mountain. Other items recovered include a Salamander heater, Troybilt rototiller, jewelry, knives, antique railroad lights and a gas grill.
The victim has been able to identify the gun and wire as those taken from his home.
Estill County Sheriff’s Deputy Karl Rifenbark has been assisting in the investigation.
Rifenbark has been able to trace the recovered items to Young, according to the warrant.
Felder said KSP has received several tips regarding Young’s whereabouts and each time they attempt to make an arrest, his location changes.
Young is described as a white male. He is approximately 5’10” and 150 pounds.
Once arrested, he would be charged with first degree burglary.
If you have any information regarding Young’s whereabouts, contact Felder at 859-623-2404 or Rifenbark at 723-2323.
