Estill County High School Soccer Boosters

The Estill County High School Soccer Boosters will meet Thursday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m., at the Estill County High School. Hope to see everyone there.

Estill County Historical and Genealogical Society

The Estill County Historical and Genealogical Society will host Back Porch Homecoming at the Research Museum on Broadway, July 26-28. This will be a time when people from various states, including Kentucky, can come to Irvine for research of their family history. Check web site for further details: www.estillcountygenealogy.net.

Madison/Estill County Farm Service Agency

The Madison/Estill County Farm Service Agency (FSA) will now accept pollinator habitats as a Continuous Sign-Up Conservation Reserve Program (CCRP) practice. Amish Country Tour with Estill County Homemakers

There will be a one-day guided tour of the Amish lifestyle in Montgomery, Ind., on Oct. 20. Enjoy a home-cooked meal (included) in a real Amish home, and then stop at a few of the local Amish stores for shopping. Price per person is $58 which includes a $5 per person donation to the Estill County Homemakers Scholarship Fund and gratuity for bus driver. Seats are limited. ECHS Class of 1997 Reunion

The Estill County Class of 1997 15-year reunion will be Saturday, Aug. 11 in Richmond. Class of 1997 graduates are invited to join us for a family picnic at E.C. Million Park from noon to 4 p.m. and an adult evening event at Gillium’s Sports Lounge at Richmond Mall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information and registration email ECHS1997@hotmail.com.

Expect Delays on Wisemantown Road

Work has begun on a project to replace drainage pipes, correct the superelevation of a curve and repave KY 499 (Wisemantown Road) in Estill County. The work will be ongoing for the next couple of weeks. Motorists should expect delays between KY 3328 (Red Lick Road) and KY 52 (Richmond Road.)

South Irvine P-K Center

South Irvine P-K Center will be having a Kindergarten Camp July 26, at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This camp will be a transition for incoming kindergarten students. An adult must attend the camp with their child. If you are unable to come to camp, please join us for Kindergarten Open House the evening of July 26, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Farmer’s Market

The Estill County Farmer’s Market is now open Tuesdays, from 3-7 p.m., and Fridays, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the fairgrounds under the pavilion.

Burn Ban

JMM Country Fest 2012

This years JMM Country Fest 2012 will be Sept. 28-29, at Lykins Park in Winchester. Tickets, campsites and RV sites are currently on sale by calling 859-771-9612 or in person at The Cantuckee Diner in Winchester. Get tickets and campsites while they last.

Alcoholics Anonymous

AA will meet Mondays at 8 p.m., at White Creek Farm on Dry Branch Road, Irvine, and Tuesday – Sunday, at 8 p.m., at 167 Broadway, Irvine. For more information, call 723-6429.

Sparks Cemetery

The Sparks Cemetery on Ticky Fork in Ravenna, is accepting donations to help pay for the upkeep of the cemetery. Rick Neal has been maintaining the cemetery since his father, Travis Neal, passed. Donations can be sent to 250 Campbell’s Branch, Ravenna, Ky. 40472. All donations will be appreciated.

Financial and Legal Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease

On July 31, from 1 to 3 p.m., the Alzheimer’s Association will be presenting a workshop for families facing legal and financial decisions regarding loved ones with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. The event will be at The Terrace, 1043 Brooklyn Blvd., Berea. Registration is required due to limited space. Contact Renee Chase at 859-266-5283.

Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs

A Veterans Benefits Field Representative will be at the National Guard Armory, 335 Cow Creek Road, Ravenna, on the first Thursday of each month, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. There will be assistance filing for Federal and State veterans benefits. Citizens Guaranty Bank Trip

Citizens Guaranty Bank presents a bank trip to the Cincinnati Reds v. St. Louis Cardinals game Saturday, Aug. 25. Price is $64 per person.
