Wisemantown Paylake overlooks a scenic valley.

A new pay lake opened just off Wisemantown road this weekend.

Just minutes from town, the lake is located high on a hill overlooking a scenic valley.

Owned and operated by Jesse Willis, there are nine fishing decks built out over the edge over the water.

An air-conditioned bait shop on the premises also sells bait, fishing equipment, snacks and cold drinks.

Restroom facilities are located at convenient locations around the lake also.  The area is well-lighted at night and parking is plentiful.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

It costs $12 to fish as long as you want or until you catch six fish.  The pay lake is open from noon to midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Guests can also put a dollar in a jar to get a chance to claim the jackpot if they catch the albino catfish that lives in the lake.

Employee Derrick Grace says that plans are in the works to eventually open a campground and a picnic area.
