SBDM Council
The Estill Springs Elementary SBDM Council will have their regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 4 p.m., at the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Irvine Masonic
Lodge #137 F & AM
The Irvine Masonic Lodge #137 F & AM will have an “all you can eat chili supper” on Jan. 7, at the Lodge Building located on the corner of Broadway and Lily Avenue in Irvine. Homemade chili, grilled cheese sandwiches, dessert and drinks will be served starting at 6 p.m. The cost for tickets is $10 each and children 12 and under eat free. Tickets are available at Sherrard’s Jewelry Store and at Michael’s Restaurant in Ravenna or can be purchased the night of the supper.

Madison County Civil War Roundtable
The bi-monthly meeting of the Madison County Civil War Roundtable will be Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., at the Dinner Bell Restaurant just off I-75, exit 76 in Berea. 2012 Mountain Mushroom Festival
Food court applications for the 2012 Mountain Mushroom Festival are now available at Irvine City Hall located at 101 Chestnut Street. Application, ,fees and proof of liability insurance must be submitted by deadline date of Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 4 p.m. Mailed applications must be postmarked by the deadline date. Estill County Adult Learning Center
The staff and teachers at the Estill County Adult Learning Center, 200 Wallace Circle, are available five days a week to help with preparation for the GED test which is administered monthly at the Estill County Board of Administration. There is no cost for classes and pre-trest study assistance. Students can work at his/her own pace and attend classes during day and evening hours. Mommie and Me Storytime
Mommie and Me Storytime for ages 2 -5, will meet Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and Friday at 10:30 a.m. Come and bring your child or grandhchild for a story, an art activity, and a snack.
Food Bank
The Estill County Community Food Bank needs to stock the shelves of the pantry. A collection container will be located in the Extension Office and other places where donations of non-perishable items (canned, boxed foods, etc.) may be dropped off. Please help support this worthy program to help the less fortunate.
South Irvine
P/K Center
South Irvine P/K Center will be having their site base meeting Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 5 p.m. If there is no school due to snow there will be no meeting.
Church Basketball League
There will be an organizational meeting held to plan for a church basketball league, Sunday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church.Any church interested in participating can plan on sending a representative to the meeting. Contact Danny Click at 606-643-5145 for more information.
DAV Chapter 94
DAV Chapter 94 will have a potluck dinner Jan. 10, beginning at 6 p.m. It will be held at the Estill Senior Citizens Building in Estill County. All members are encouraged to attend and are asked to bring a covered dish. The meat will be furnished by the chapter. If the roads get bad from weather conditions, the dinner will be postponed the following month. It will be announced.
Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/
UAW Retirees
Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees will meet Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 10:30 a.m., at the Union Hall on Bloomfield Road. Following the meeting, retirees and guests will travel to the Garden Girls Cafe at Al’s on Lexington Road for lunch. All retirees and former employees are welcome at lunch.
West Irvine Elementary SBDM Meeting
The West Irvine SBDM Council will hold a regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 9 at 4:45p.m., in the West Irvine Elementary Library.
