Estill plays well, comes up short in Red River Classic

EC-v-Ryle-3The Estill County Engineers played in the Red River Classic at Powell County High School on Dec. 27, 28 and 29.
Their first game against Northern Kentucky’s Ryle High School was a close one which Estill lead most of the game.
They lost in the final minutes by a score of 60-58.
The second game Estill came out strong, but came up short at the buzzer, losing 64-60.
The last game of the tournament was Estill’s only win. The Engineers played tough against Elliott County and came out on top by a score of 54 to 29, placing seventh.
Gallatin County came out the winner with Ryle placing second and Powell County placing third.
Estill’s Brandon Morris placed second in the slam dunk contest and Colby Baber placed second in the three point shooting contest.
