Martha Jane Hughes Robinson, 74
Martha Jane Hughes Robinson, 74, of Webb Road in Irvine, died Sept. 17, 2011, at her home following a sudden illness. She was born March 1, 1937, in Clay County and was the daughter of Frank and Litha Fox Hughes. She was retired from Trane Company and had lived in Estill County for the past eight years. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Park; four sisters and a brother.
Survivors include her companion, James Webb of Estill County; a daughter, Donna Humphries of Ohio; two sons, Doug Lower of Ohio, and Stanley Robinson III of Lexington; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 24,2011, at the Parkway Baptist Church, 1915 N. Broadway, Lexington, Ky. Warren F. Toler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ricky James
Bryant, 53
Ricky James Bryant, 53, of Pea Ridge Road in Irvine, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after a short illness. He was born Oct. 10, 1957, in Bedford, Ind., and was the son of Donna Lou Bridwell Goldbach and the late Harry Bryant. He was a machinist and attended the Baptist Church. He had lived in Estill County, for the past eight years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Bryant and Roger Dean Keller.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Lou Bridwell Goldbach; two daughters, Alexandria Jan Bryant, and Sarah Alivia Bryant, both of Pensacola, Fla.; his fiance, Peggy Turner of Irvine; a sister, Rochelle Hammond of Greenville, Ind.; and a brother, Randy Bryant of New Jersey. Memorial services were conducted Friday, Sept. 23, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine.

Rosa Mae Cox, 91
Rosa Mae Cox, 91, of Wallace Circle Drive, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011. She was a native of Estill County, born Feb. 3, 1920, a daughter of the late Charlie and Eliza Jane Edwards Cox. She was a retired homemaker and a member of the Green Briar Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rhea, Roberta, Robert, Rollie, and Roy Cox.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sept. 27, 2011, at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Delmar McGee officiating. Burial was at the Roberts Cemetery in South Irvine.

Ruford Allen
Newton, 68
Ruford Allen Newton, 68, of Maggie Lane in Irvine, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at his home following a short illness. He was born Feb. 22, 1943 in Estill County and was the son of Christine Sparks Newton and the late Allen G. Newton, Jr. He was a retired CSX employee and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was an avid horseman and a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association. He was also a former member of the Kentucky National Guard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Newton.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Miller Newton; his mother, Christine Sparks Newton of Estill County; a son, Donald Keith Noble and wife, Lisa of Estill County; two brothers, Michael “Fig” Newton and wife, Rebecca of Estill County, and Gary Dean Newton and wife, Lisa also of Estill County; a grandchild, Bethany Rachelle Noble; a niece, Karen Dozier; three nephews, Joshua, Justin and Christopher Newton, and a great-niece, Ashleigh Dozier.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Irvine, by Bro. Raymond Flynn, and Bro. Keith Sands. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charlie Taylor, Clay Baber, Phillip Dunn, Daryll Loveless, Randy Powell, and Jerry Hall. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Babb, Ronald Rawlins, Earl Young, Gary Baber, Gary Flannery, Hoy Marshall, Richard Johnson, and Billy Masters.

Marie Masters
Puckett, 89
Marie Masters Puckett, 89, of Winchester Road in Irvine, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the Irvine Health & Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness. She was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Robert and Dora Margison Masters. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rice Station Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Puckett; a grandson, Steve Smith; and a son-in-law, Joe Jackson.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Jackson Reece and husband, Gene of Irvine, and Vivian Smith and husband, Denny, also of Irvine; a grandchild, Clay Jackson of Richmond; a great-grandchild, Jared Smith; a cousin, Jean Masters West of Ohio; and a granddaughter-in-law, Melita Smith of Nicholasville.
Furneral services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at the the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Kirt Scott. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Erin Puckett, Kevin Puckett, Glenn Tipton, Jeff Henry, Kirt Riddell, Larry Muncie, and Greenville Estes. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Puckett, and Howard Stratton.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Rice Station Christian Church.

BonEva Hall Miller, 85
BonEva Hall Miller, 85, of Garrett Avenue in Irvine, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at her home following a short illness. She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Clinton Hall and Gertrude Underwood Hall Baker. She was a homemaker and was the oldest continual member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Dana Long Simpson; and a brother, William C. Hall.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Beverly Gene Miller; a daughter, Diana Long and husband, Danny of Irvine; a son, Larry Quentin Miller and wife, Janice of Irvine; three grandchildren, Larry Kevin Miller, Greg Osborne and Latisha Osborne Dues; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Osborne, Katelyn Osborne, Marlee Kate Miller and Grant Miller.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at the Calvary Baptist Church by Bro. Keith Sands and Bro. Sam Miller. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Tom Whitaker, Kevin Dues, Kevin Miller, Greg Osborne, Kenneth Barker, and Dan Ball. Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of the Calvary Baptist Church, Jimmy Wise, Grant Miller, Brandon Osborne, Marlee Kate Miller and Katelyn Osborne.
