Engineers fall to the Breathitt County Bobcats
After losing to the pesky Bobcats of Breathitt County by a 45-42 margin last season, Estill rode into Jackson last Friday with high hopes of enacting revenge.
Instead, the Engineers fell 53-6.
Only Randy Davidson was able to pick up much yardage for the Engineers in the unexpected lop-sided defeat.
Coach Mike Jones and staff won’t have much time to try and turn things around, as Wayne County comes to Irvine on Friday fresh off a 49-0 thrashing of Clinton County.
While the Cardinals don’t look to be in the same league with Breathitt (Clinton County went winless in 2010) they are nevertheless a formable opponent.
Last year, the boys from Monticello ended their season with a 53-26 loss to Breathitt in the playoffs.
