Van D. Brinegar, 78
Van D. Brinegar, 78, widow of Harve Brinegar, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, in Danville, after an illness. She was a native of Estill County, born April 20, 1933, a daughter of the late Earnest and Sarah Issacs Carroll. Van was a sweet, shy, hard working woman. A few things she enjoyed were gardening, quilting, and working jigsaw puzzles. Besides her parents, Mrs. Brinegar was preceded in death by 4 husbands, Cecil Alcorn, Roy Hymer, Clifford White, and Harv Brinegar; three sons, Clayton Alcorn, Jeffery Allen White, Lloyd Richard White; two daughters, Bonnie Hymer, and Linda Phyllis White; and three infants.
Survivors include a daughter, Polly Leach; four sons, Willie Green White, James White, William Floyd Hymer, and Roy Edward Hymer; two sisters, Linda Harrison, and Kate Webb; and two brothers, Rice Carroll, and Harvey Carroll.
Services were held Saturday, June 4, at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Bev Arvin officiating. Burial was at the Marcum Cemetery, Driprock, Jackson County.
Donald Steven Henry, 60, of Chestnut Stand Road in Irvine, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his home following a sudden illness. He was born Sept. 11, 1950, in Madison County and was the son of D.B. Henry and the late Ruby Ashcraft Henry. He was a former General Motors employee.
Survivors include his father, D.B. Henry; two sons, Lucas Henry of Dayton, Ohio, and David Callison of Fort Myers, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Glendon Woosley.
