7-24 Lloyd W. Beckley II of Pryse reported a break-in at rental property he owns on Beattyville Road. Items valued at more than $13.70 were removed after thieves entered the mobile home by forcing a rear door open, damaging the locks. He believes the incident occurred between July 16-24. One small and one large air conditioner, a washer and dryer and a microwave were taken.
7-14 Jeremy Cole of Middle Fork Road rported a burglary at his residence. An unknown person broke a small glass from the back door, reached in and unlocked it to gain entry. Items were strewn about the house and some were left behind wrapped in a blanket. Deputies think the burglar may have been scared off. A game system and controllers were removed. Victim said witnesses saw a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer, white with tinted windows in the area. The victim told deputies that a few days before the break-in a male and female stopped at his residence and asked for somebody who didn’t live there.
7-13 Deputy Russell “Doc” Morris arrested John Dunaway, 19, and charged him with two counts of second degree forgery and one count of theft by unlawful taking. The report states Dunaway admitted to taking three checks which belonged to his grandfather and forging them. He allegedly cashed two checks at Dollar Deals totaling more than $763. Bond was set at $1,000 with the notation that if he is convicted of the crime, it will go toward restitution.
7-3 or 7-4 Criminal mischief was reported to have happened at Cornett Chrysler on Richmond Road. Three vehicles were damaged when an unknown party “keyed” them. All three were 2010 Dodge Rams in different colors. The dollar amount of the damage has not been determined.
