Archie Hurley was killed on May 27 when the vehicle he and his wife Patsy Hurley were riding in collided with a vehicle being driven by 24-year old Keiley Harrison of Richmond. Patsy was seriously injured.
According to an article by Brian Smith in Tuesday’s Richmond Register, Patsy Hurley as executrix of her late husband’s estate, has filed a wrongful death suit against Harrison in Madison Circuit Court.
The lawsuit alleges that Harrison was operating her 1995 Chevrolet truck in a reckless, careless and negligent manner when it crossed the center line and struck the Hurleys’ 1984 Ford truck.
Kentucky State Police Troopers who investigated the accident said alcohol is believed to be a factor and that toxicology tests were performed on Harrison at the time of the accident.
Patsy Hurley is seeking compensatory damages for medical and funeral expenses for her husband and for her own expenses. She is also asking for compensation for lost earning potential for both of them.
Irvine Attorney Rodney G. Davis is representing Hurley.
“It is pretty much a straightforward lawsuit,” Davis said.
