Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital (MWMH) will be starting a community health and wellness class entitled “Creating a Healthier Me” on Tuesdays from 5-6 p.m in the Mercy Conference Room at MWMH. The class will focus on the importance of physical activity, correct. portion sizes, how to read a food label correctly, understanding common food label claims and healthy cooking tips. Class participants will receive a “Creating a Healthier Me” booklet that will serve as a tool of reference and accountability as participants make healthy life-style changes. Classes will begin on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Participants will weigh in at 5 p.m. and class starts at 5:30 p.m. There will be a $10 fee to join the program and a $2 fee per class. Community members are encouraged to attend.
