Work continues on the Irvine bridge, as strips are cut out and rebar reinforced, then concrete poured.  Work is expected to last at least another week.

In the meantime, on Dec. 28, a dump truck overturned at the end of the bypass, bringing traffic to a halt again.  The driver reportedly told police that his brakes went out.
