Tori Welch wanted to grow her hair long to donate to Locks of Love. She is six years old.
Traci Welch, owner of Main Street Salon, said she felt like she should step up and do her part after her six year-old daughter Tori expressed a desire a few years ago to donate her hair to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for those suffering hair loss.
Traci has decided to offer free haircuts to anyone who would like to donate their hair to Locks of Love. She will also pay the postage to mail it to the organization.
Hair must be at least 10 inches long to donate.
Last week, Traci cut her daughter’s long blond hair.
“We’ve had family members who have been through cancer treatments,” said Traci. “It was something she wanted to do…I am proud of her.”
Anyone willing to donate is encouraged to drop on by, or call Traci at 606-723-8143 for an appointment.
