Estill County Chorus
The Estill County Community Chorus will resume rehearsals Thursday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Irvine First Christian Church, Main Street. Anyone who likes to sing is invited to join the chorus. We especially need men. Come on men, don’t be shy. There is no age limit to singing—this is for the younger and older.
Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees will hold their January meeting onTuesday, Jan.12, 2010, 11 a.m. at the Garden Girls’ Cafe in Al’s Garden Center on Lexington Road. We will remain at the cafe for lunch after the business meeting.
The Kentucky Blood Center will have a blood drive Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the fellowship hall at First Christian Church, 270 Main Street, Irvine. Each donor will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt.
Foothills Community Action Partnership is offering free weight management and yoga classes, offering valuable tips and suggestions for people trying to lose weight and get fit. The four week class series will meet on Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. at the Foothills office , 209 River Drive, Irvine. Each week the first half of the class will cover topics regarding weight management. The second half of the class will be doing beginners yoga. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a towel or yoga mat. Classes begin Jan. 7. H1N1 Flu Clinic
The H1N1 Flu clinic scheduled for children 9 years of age and younger to receive their second dose of vaccine on Saturday, Jan. 9 has been canceled. We have rescheduled the clinic for Saturday, Jan. 23. The clinic will be held at the Estill County Health Department starting at 8 a.m. Weather permitting.
The Appalachian Dulcimer Club is offering free lessons on Fridays at 5 p.m. at the Estill County Public Library. The only requirement is to bring your own dulcimer.

Boy Scout Round Up
Boy Scout Troop 144 invites all 11 year old and older boys to come check out the Boy Scouts. The Estill County Community Food Bank needs to stock the shelves of the pantry. A collection container will be located in the Extension Office and other places where donations of non-perishable items (canned, boxed foods, etc.) may be dropped off. Please help support this worthy program to help the less fortunate.
Mommie and Me
Mommie and Me Storytime groups will be every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and every Friday at 10:30 a.m. These groups are for children ages 2 through 5. Bring your child to the library for a story, an art activity, and a snack. Call 723-3030 for more information.
